Ingram has also worked with small and medium sized firms, including running his own firm for 2 1/2 years.
Some additional career highlights include serving as an expert witness which resulted in a $5 million settlement for the client, PMP Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI), multi-million dollar project turnarounds and some 25 lectures to universities and professional associations. He has published numerous articles, including a peer-reviewed journal study and served as an editor for the publications of PMI. In 1998 the Project Management Institute published Ingram’s book “How to Turn Computer Problems Into Competitive Advantage”. In 2004, Ingram published a second book, "A New Model for Investing in Software Companies."
He has twice spoken to the National Confab Conference for the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC). Ingram is a past president of the Dallas / Fort Worth Chapter of IMC and currently serves on the national board of IMC where he heads the Chapter Presidents Council. He is also active in improving the operating effectiveness of churches and non-profit organizations.

This short book makes the case that the "tech bust" of 2001 - 2003 requires a new model for software companies to produce happy customers, be successful and be profitable.
